Russell Westbrook injured, return to the playoffs uncertain..
Just heard about Russell Westbrook’s injury . It seems like more and more basketball players are getting hurt this year (Unlucky 2013?) Even the recently concluded college season , most notably and perhaps most gruesome is Kevin Ware’s leg injury. Westbrook’s injury is the same one that Jeremy Lin had before the playoffs last season. Some basketball experts say that some NBA players played with that same type of injury without having surgery. But Westbrook opt to have it fix and will try to return midway the western conference finals or more probably the NBA finals if the Thunder will make it that far. It must be really hurting him because he is a warrior and has not missed this many of games in his career. Also, he is the type of player that relies on his athleticism and explosiveness (much like Derrick Rose) to contribute to his team. It is no secret that Westbrook is an important player for OKC, being an All-Star point guard and the Thunder’s 2nd leading scorer behind Kevin Durant. Other players have to step up for OKC to have a chance to advance further. I wish for his speedy recovery because frankly I think OKC and maybe the Clippers have a chance to dethrone the Miami Heat as NBA champions this year.
